It was bound to happen. After last night’s lengthy dinner discussion with a friend regarding the benefits (and moral challenges) of experimenting with Artificial intelligence(AI) tools for recent design and composition projects, I awakened in the middle of the night from a nightmare of epic proportions.
In my dream, I was hard at work with AI prompts that would provide for my team a more streamlined workflow when I fell into a slumber. As I began to doze, I prompted AI to assess its own outcome and continually improve the results. Unfortunately, the cycle went out of control as I slept and created what I could not stop of alter. I was helpless to restrain my “helper”. The world seemed to hang in the balance when I awakened to face the unintended results.
Of course, I recognized the scene as a direct nod to Mickey in Disney’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment of Fantasia. I was relieved once I confirmed there were no buckets of water surrounding my bed.
